Itinerary : Hanoi - Hoa Binh - Mai Chau - Ninh Binh - Hanoi
An unforgettable Vietnam adventure travel through villages, paddy fields, mountains and valleys of Hoa Binh (Mai Chau) and onto Ninh Binh (Cuc Phuong National Park, Tam Coc). All is off the beaten track drive and includes some trek in the National Park.

Motorcyle: Russian Minsks are the best bikes for adventure trips in Vietnam. They have a simple design, are easy to fix, and attract no adverse attention - we only travel low impact.
Mai Chau Valley
From Hoa Binh Town to Cun Pass, then Tan Lac District to reach Mai Chau Village. It is 60km from Hoa Binh Town. The beautiful district of Mai Chau spreads out under the eyes of visitors and lies in a green valley of paddy field dotted with rows of stilt houses. The stilt houses are made from wood and stand about 1.50m above the ground. Visitors are invited to clean their feet with water before entering houses. Roofs are often made of palm leaves. The windows are relatively large to allow fresh air to circulate and are decorated with a few baskets of orchids and bird cages hanging outside.

Mai Chau Valleys

Day 1: Hanoi - MaiChau (160km)
Departure and wind our way to Hoa Binh town, before that we will be driving our own way through villages, valleys of Ha Tay and Hoa Binh province. Lunch break in Hoa Binh town, visit the power plant and continue hitting the roads up hills to Kun pass and onto nice roads offering spectacular views over the valleys and mountains. Arrive in Maichau in p.m., take a short walk around and overnight in Thai’s house on stilts.
Day 2: MaiChau - CucPhuong National park (120 km)
There will be about 6 hours drive on the on and off the main roads to Cuc Phuong National Park, get to Cuc Phuong in early afternoon. Visit around and o/n in the park.
Day 3: CucPhuong - NinhBinh (~ 60 km)
Morning visit the Primate Rescue center, then we ride 20km through Cuc Phuong forest to the park center, tea break then trek in 3 hrs round trip to the Tetrameles nudiflora (Sequoia) 1,000 years tree. Jump on our bike for driving on sides of this park, passing the local ferry and onto Ninh Binh town. Sleep in hotel in town.
Day 4: NinhBinh - Hanoi. (~ 110km)
Morning we ride to TamCoc cave for 3hours boat trip in Halong inland then we will have lunch break in the river side restaurant, before riding through villages, rivers, rocks to HoaLu where we will visit the “ancient capital city of Hoa Lu”. Hit our road towards Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi by 6 p.m. Tour ends.
